Before & After: Bathroom Reveal
I have been talking about it for so long that I can almost not believe it is finally done! The bathroom renovation was due to happen at the end of August but we had so many setbacks and challenges, delays from the builder, amongst other things, that we have only just finished it a couple of weeks ago.
First things first, take a look at the before pictures. When we moved into our new home we knew that the ensuite would need some TLC - a whole entire set of new fixtures and wall coverings type of TLC. This is what we had when we moved in...
If you look closely (totally understand if you don't want to, so I'll break it down for you) you can see encrusted mold, damaged wall by a leak at the bottom right of the shower, a moving shower tray, dated tiles and lack of storage. Not a great picture. We couldn't shower in it because it would leak through the living room ceiling downstairs, lucky we have another two bathrooms!
My starting point for this makeover were the black fixtures, I love them, wanted them no matter what! So I created a black & white scheme. I also wanted a bigger shower tray and a much lower one whilst we were at it, built in storage under the sink and modern tiles.
Here is the mood board for this project:
I was pretty quick to decide on the fixtures, the sink, shower tray, towel rail, pretty much everything aside from the tiles.
Ah those tiles! The ones I loved were way out of our budget at £200 plus per square meter (a total of over £600 for the feature wall alone!), so I had to keep looking until I came across something that was modern, geometric and had an encaustic feel to it. And of course, something that we loved - that was the hard part!
Ready to see the finished ensuite? Here we go...
That's another makeover done! What did you think? I'd love to know as I leave you with some before and after collages :)
